Control Valve Range

Boiler Feed Pump Minimum Recirculation

Rated among the toughest of power plant control valve applications, valves employed in BFP Min. Recirculation service are required to have high degree of cavitation resistance, high pressure drop capacity and low noise levels. MIL 91000 series Matrix valves have an ingenious multi-stage, multi-path, 3-dimensional flow path through periphery of concentric cylinders and have been designed for applications up to 420 bar pressure drop in 40 pressure/velocity dropping stages.

Start-up Feed Water Control Valve

Start-up feed water control valves are subjected to very high pressure drop and low flow requirement during the initial phases of the start up operation and comparatively lower pressure drop and higher flow requirements for rest of operation. When load picks up, this valve will be kept closed.
MIL 41000/78000/91000 anti-cavitation control valves are successfully employed for the applications in Thermal power plants.

Soot Blower Pressure Reduction Valve

From the soot blower header, high velocity steam jets are blown through the soot blowers to clear soot accumulated in the boiler. When soot blowers open and close suddenly, the possible pressure surges in the header line is controlled by the header control valve.
MIL 41000/71000/91000 control valves are successfully employed for the applications in Thermal power plants. The body shall be forged design and chrome molybdenum steel (ASTM A 182 Gr. F22)

Superheater / Reheater / PRDS Spray Control

High pressure drop, high Cv ratio, tight shut-off capabilities and cavitation protection are the challenges to overcome during selection of a spray control valve and the optimum solution based on the severity of application can be MIL 29000 Micropak valves with optional multi-stage trims or MIL 78000 with multi-stage trims or MIL 91000 with multi-stage, multi-path trims.

MIL 41000 Single Seated Heavy Duty Cage Guided Globe Control Valves

Overview

  • High allowable pressure drops: Cage Guided valves provide exceptional performance over a wide range of pressure drops in severe services. They also handle most shut-off pressures with standard pneumatic spring diaphragm Actuators.
  • High capacity with low pressure recovery: Flow capacities remain at top levels, and are attained with minimum pressure recovery reducing the possibility of Cavitation in liquid service.
  • Standardised high performance material: This ensures trouble free operation even in applications with inherent high pressure drops and extreme temperatures.
  • Tight shut off valves: For lower sizes, unbalanced design results in Class V leakage. For higher sizes, the exceptional single seated leak tightness of Class V is achieved by the following special options:
    • Auxiliary shut-off pilot plug closes the balancing holes located in the main plug in shut-off conditions.
    • Self energised seal rings pressing against walls of the Cage & Plug arrests leakage past the seal ring.
  • Lo-dB/Anti-Cavitation Cages: Noise attenuation and Cavitation control achieved by replacing conventional Cages with Lo-dB Cages

MIL 10000 Double Ported Top & Bottom Guided Control Valves

Overview

  • Top & bottom Guiding: Provides adequate support against side loads
  • High allowable pressure drops: These valves incorporate simplest form of balanced construction and provide high pressure drop capability with standard actuators.
  • High capacity with low pressure recovery: Flow capacity is at top levels for contemporary double ported valves and is attained with very little pressure recovery as indicated by the high Cf factors, especially for V-Port plug design.
  • Invertible bodies & plugs: The same direct spring diaphragm actuator can provide both air-to-close & air-to-open actions.

MIL 50000 Cryogenic Control Valves

Overview

  • Extended body construction: This ensures that stuffing box is as far away as possible from the fluid flow area so as to prevent freezing of the packing.

Anti-surge Control in Refinery & Petrochemical Complexes

MIL 41000 series, heavy duty cage guided, low noise control valves are efficiently operated in anti-surge applications, where control valves are required to operate in very quick operating times, keeping parameters like dead time, overshoot, etc in allowed limits.


Rich Amine Letdown in Refineries

MIL 78000 series, anti-clog, multi-stage control valves are ideally suited for Liquid Amine letdown applications containing substantial amount of entrained gases. Multi-stage, axial flow trims efficiently handle the two phase flow, which can otherwise lead to excessive vibration and erosion.


Water / Steam Injection in Oil Fields

MIL 78000 series, multi-stage control valves with larger flow area is ideally suited for high pressure injection where, in addition to high pressure drop and cavitation, clogging possibility due to entrained particles (like sand) exists. The presence of particles can clog conventionally designed cage guided high pressure designs. Often due to corrosive nature of produced water, these valves are with duplex or super duplex material of construction.

High Pressure Ammonia Letdown

MIL 78000 series multi-stage, anti-cavitation control valves renders excellent service in high pressure Ammonia applications up to 300 bar pressure drop. The applications are highly demanding with heavy flashing and low temperatures.

Desuperheaters
Desuperheaters are used in power plants to reduce / control temperature of steam by spraying water to the steam line. MIL has also ventured into Desuperheaters since 2014 by entering into a strategic alliance with Welland&Tuxhorn AG, Germany.
